What this site is
KC Auto Glass Pros is an auto glass information and referral service for the Kansas City metro. This site connects you with local auto glass technicians serving the Kansas City metro on both sides of the state line.
When you call the number here, you reach us, and we connect you with a local technician who does the work. We are not the van that pulls into your driveway. We would rather say that plainly on an About page than let you work it out on the day.
Why we cite everything
Most auto glass pages for this metro repeat specifics that nobody has checked. The most common example: several sites state that a crack over three inches in the driver's viewing area is an automatic Missouri inspection failure, presented as law.
We could not find that criterion published anywhere on the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Motor Vehicle Inspection pages. It may well be accurate — inspectors work to standards that aren't all posted publicly. But we are not going to print a number as state law when we cannot show you where it comes from. What we'll tell you that a sales script won't
- Repair beats replacement when it's possible. Smaller than a quarter, out of your sight line, not touching the edge — that's a resin repair, it's cheaper, and it keeps the factory seal a replacement can never give back.
- Filing a claim isn't always worth it. Neither Kansas nor Missouri mandates zero-deductible glass coverage. A chip repair often costs less than your deductible, which makes the claim pointless.
- Ask about the camera. If there's a forward-facing camera behind your mirror, a windshield replacement is only half the job until it's recalibrated. Ask whether that's included — of us or anyone else.
- Cure time is real. Urethane needs about an hour before the vehicle is safe to drive, longer in cold. Anyone handing your keys straight back has skipped something structural.
The state line
Missouri operates a Motor Vehicle Inspection program covering windshield condition. Kansas requires no periodic safety inspection for private passenger vehicles. The rule follows registration, not where you drive. That single difference changes the answer for half our service area, and it is the thing most sites covering this metro get wrong or skip.
